Sunday, the Bluegrass Association of North Dakota, aka B.A.N.D, returns to the Farm with a live jam starting at 1pm! In addition to some of our Farm family vendors selling outside, we also have vendors which are new to the Farm - including local artists and makers Eckoe Moore & Beyond Love & Light Work as well as vintage from Sarah’s Closet and Gatherings Collective. The only thing missing is you - so we hope to see you there! (And please do share!) Saturday, June 18th, and Sunday, June 19th. 2/22/2022 0 Comments Antique Mall Junkin' Scavengers! As we mentioned in our last newsletter, The FARM is now offering Scavenger Hunt or "I Spy" sheets. Originally intended to keep little ones entertained while adults shop, it turns out these scavenger hunts are fun for folks of all ages! Moms, dads, grandparents - everyone seems to love the junk hunt!
In the Corner Market at the front of the store, you'll find clipboards with sheets listing items to find in the shop. Simply fill in the blanks with the booth or case numbers where you find the listed items. When the completed sheet is turned in at the desk, successful hunters will receive a free sticker with Kit, The Farm Raccoon, on it! (The FARM pencil is yours to keep just for trying!) While we began this, it was, of course, focused on a Valentine's Day theme - but we've plenty of other sheets available too. So if you've already done the one on a clipboard, just ask for a different version. Let's keep the junk scavenging fun! Fargo Antiques & Repurposed Market, aka The FARM, mixes the past with the future this Halloween season by offering live tarot readings at the antique mall! Along with the usual antique, vintage, & historical items, there will be more unusual finds, including handmade scented “Horror Film” candles, rare Halloween blow mold figures, uranium glass, vintage x-rays, and other hard-to-find oddities. And the Holiday Hayloft will be open too. he Farm will mix the past with the future too by offering live tarot card readings from local expert Bonnie Bee. Bonnie Bee is an intuitive tarot card reader with over 40 years of experience. Her clairsentient ability was passed down to her through her mother, who was also a tarot card reader. A five-card tarot spread reading with Bonnie Bee will be just $10. The Halloween festivities begin on October 21st, Thursday night, at 5:30 pm, with a special seasonal shopping atmosphere created with special lighting.
Kristi Bixby, the owner of the antique mall, says, “When the overhead lights are off in the building, the antique mall has an almost magical ambiance from the glow of lights in the individual booths. Halloween season is the perfect time to showcase such a mood." On Saturday, October 23rd, Bonnie Bee will return to offer more tarot readings from noon until 4 pm. We hope you'll stop in for a spell! This weekend is our annual Fall Flea Market - and it's also a celebration of the antique mall's 6th anniversary in October!
Kristi Bixby, owner of the antique mall, says, “We have been blessed to survive this many years, despite road construction, pandemic shutdowns, and everything else due to the support of our local community. We are so thankful to have also been voted the Best Antique Mall in the Red River Valley in 2020." This annual fall event brings numerous buyers to the antique mall’s parking lot which is full of vendors selling vintage furniture, antique crocks, collectible retro toys, local pottery, vintage vinyl, rustic farm house items, repurposed furnishings, mid-century modern decor, and other vintage wares. Along with the booths outside, all the vendors inside the antique mall will be having sales as well. The Holiday Hayloft and Tool Shed have been restocked with fresh items - which will also be on sale. As always, The FARM includes local non-profit organizations in this public event. "The FARM values being an active member of the Fargo-Moorhead community. Along with supporting all the small local businesses under our roof, we are proud to support local non-profit organizations who serve our Red River Valley,” says Bixby. The Bluegrass Association of North Dakota (B.A.N.D.), a local nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of bluegrass music in North Dakota, will be in attendance both days of the flea market performing live jam sessions on Saturday and Sunday from noon until 4 pm. Proceeds from food sales will benefit Downtown Fargo's VFW Post 762. Both organizations will be accepting donations. The FARM’s Annual Fall Flea Market runs Saturday & Sunday, September 18th & 19th, from 10 am until 5 pm. This event is free and open to the public. Come celebrate with us!! Fargo Antiques & Repurposed Market, aka The FARM, announces its annual summer flea market - with live music this year!
Held the third weekend in June, the annual summer event brings numerous buyers to the antique mall’s parking lot which is full of vendors selling their antiques, collectible toys, vintage vinyl, mid-century furnishings, rustic garden items, repurposed furnishings, and other vintage wares. Along with the booths outside, all the vendors inside the antique mall will be having sales as well. The Holiday Hayloft and Tool Shed have been restocked with fresh items - which will also be on sale. In addition to the antique picking, there will be live music at this year’s June flea market. The Bluegrass Association of North Dakota (B.A.N.D.), a local nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of bluegrass music in North Dakota, will be in attendance both days of the flea market. B.A.N.D. will be performing live jam sessions on Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm until 5 pm. Kristi Bixby, owner of the antique mall, says, “The FARM values being an active member of the Fargo-Moorhead community. And naturally, as an antique mall, we are all about preserving history, which B.A.N.D. is doing. Besides, after the year we've all had, who doesn't want to hoot and holler - maybe even dance a little?” The FARM’s Annual Summer Flea Market runs Saturday, June 19th, from 10 am until 6 pm, and Sunday, June 20th, from noon until 6 pm. It is free and open to the public. See you at The FARM! PS To get an idea of what the music and event will be like, check out five members from B.A.N.D. and one of our vendors, Fair Oaks Antiques, live on 95.9 KRFF “This Side Of Country” With Travis on KRFF 95.9 Radio Free Fargo Friday morning! They will be live at 11 am on Friday, June 18th! Tell your friends! This time of year, we are all overdue for a little fun. While we consider the shop highly entertaining, we thought we should take things up a notch or two and have an especially fun and free event at The FARM for the Fargo-Moorhead community. This Saturday, March 7th, The FARM will be hosting a Cabin Fever event designed to chase away the seasonal blues. Our event will feature free cider tasting from Wild Terra, North Dakota's first urban cidery and cider bar! And if you like what you try, you can purchase more, because Wild Terra will be on-hand to sell some of their favorite ciders too! Ross Grothmann, of Big Beard Antiques, one of our vendors, is also a big fan of Wild Terra. “It’s great to have fresh options in Fargo that give you the experience of something unique, something hand-crafted, and at the same time something of our shared history. Wild Terra’s offerings and atmosphere are a fresh take on a fun place to go and a great experience. One of the things that I love about what they do so well is create a vibrant space where it’s easy to enjoy good company, good food and great cider. I recommend checking them out, and I’m excited they are partnering with us for this event.” But wait, there’s more! There are a lot of great things to pair with hard cider, but what could be better than free live music! Our Cabin Fever event will feature live music from Fargo’s own Kwaician and Darin Loven, of Smith & Loven Six String Circus! Kwaician, Darin Loven, and other local acoustic musicians will be performing at The FARM in support of Excite Music, a non-profit organization based in Fargo, North Dakota that helps children in the F-M and West Fargo community gain access to music.
With their encouragement and financial help, more of our area kids have access to instruments, lessons, and mentorship they otherwise wouldn’t have. It’s important to have fun - but we can do good too! Fargo Antiques & Repurposed Market’s Cabin Fever Fix event is on Saturday, March 7, 2020. It starts at noon and runs until 6 pm. Don’t miss this fun & free FM community event! Did we mention this is a free event? ;) |
